Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Exegeo is built to honor your privacy. This policy covers both versions of the app: the Apple / iOS version distributed through the App Store, and the Google Play / Android version. The two platforms work differently, so their data practices differ too. We describe each one separately below so that both are accurate. The exegeo.app website itself uses standard analytics, described in its own section near the end; the app does not.

What differs by platform

On iOS, your notes, highlights, and reading stay on your device, and chapter summaries are included in the app; audio narration is downloaded over the internet. On Android, you sign in with Google and chapter summaries and audio are delivered from our servers, so we store your account and subscription status there. Neither version contains advertising or third-party analytics or tracking software.

Exegeo on Apple / iOS

Information we do not collect

On iOS, we do not collect, store, or transmit to our servers:

  • Your name, email address, or contact information.
  • The passages you read, search for, or summarize.
  • The notes, highlights, or favorites you create.
  • Usage analytics, session data, device identifiers, or IP addresses.
  • Any content you view, summarize, or generate inside the app.

The iOS app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Signing in

The iOS app uses Sign in with Apple only to verify your access. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple — we do not run an account server for iOS, and none of your personal information is sent to or stored on our servers.

Where your content lives

Notes, highlights, favorites, reading progress, and any content you create stay on your iPhone, in storage managed by iOS. If you have iCloud enabled for Exegeo, Apple synchronizes that content between your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account. We never see or access that content — Apple's iCloud is a direct relationship between you and Apple.

How summaries and audio work

Every chapter summary in Exegeo is pre-crafted and bundled directly into the iOS app. When you tap Summarize, the app surfaces content already on your iPhone — nothing you read or summarize is sent to our servers, to any cloud service, or to any third party.

Audio narration is downloaded over the internet, from Apple-managed hosting, the first time you play a chapter. This delivers the audio file only; it does not transmit anything about what you read or how you use the app.

Subscriptions and payments

On iOS, Exegeo offers an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. When you subscribe, your payment is handled entirely by Apple. We receive aggregate, anonymized sales reports from Apple; we do not receive your payment details, Apple ID, or any information that could identify you as an individual subscriber.

Crash reports and diagnostics

If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send us anonymized crash logs and performance data. This is controlled entirely by you in iOS and contains no personal content. We use this data only to diagnose and fix bugs.

Exegeo on Google Play / Android

This section explains what the Android version of Exegeo, distributed through the Google Play Store, collects and why. We keep it short and plain on purpose. The Android app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software.

What we collect

  • Your Google account email and name. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name so we can create and recognize your account and sync your Pro access across devices.
  • Subscription status. If you subscribe to Exegeo Pro, Google Play processes the payment. We receive whether your subscription is active and when it expires, so we can unlock Pro features. We never receive your card or bank details.
  • App activity needed to run the service. We record how many chapter summaries you have used on a given day so we can apply the free daily limit and your Pro access. Your highlights and notes are stored on your device.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, messages, or any advertising identifier.

How we use it

We use the data above only to:

  • sign you in and keep your account,
  • apply your free daily limit and unlock Pro if you subscribe,
  • provide and maintain the app.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. The only parties involved are Google (for sign-in and for processing payments through Google Play) and our own server infrastructure that runs Exegeo.

How it is stored and protected

All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Account and subscription data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure that we control.

Your choices and deletion

You can stop using the app and sign out at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@exegeo.app with the subject "Delete my Exegeo account". We will delete your account data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or tax obligations related to past purchases.

You can manage or cancel your Exegeo Pro subscription at any time in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions.

The exegeo.app website

This section is about our website only, not the app. The Exegeo app, on both iOS and Android, contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking software, as described above. The website you are reading now does use two common measurement tools:

  • Google Analytics (GA4). Helps us understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and whether visitors tap through to the App Store or Google Play. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) when you consent.
  • Meta Pixel. Helps us measure the effectiveness of advertising and reach people who have visited the site. The pixel sets cookies (such as _fbp) and is only loaded after you consent.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept these cookies. If you decline, the Meta Pixel is never loaded and Google Analytics runs without cookies in a consent-respecting mode (Google Consent Mode). You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will bring the banner back.

Other ways to opt out:

  • Decline in the cookie banner (your choice is remembered on this device).
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Manage how Meta uses data about you in your Meta ad preferences.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Children's privacy

Exegeo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. This applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the app.

Support correspondence

If you email us at support@exegeo.app, we will receive the email address you send from and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to your request. We do not add support correspondents to any mailing list or share their information with anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how either version of the app handles data, we will update this page and note the change at the top.
